How To Regain Control Of Our Free Time

Okay, I don’t think any of us have really mastered this one but we can always keep trying to get just a bit of our time back.

Now y’all know how we plan our savings by including it as a line in our budget?

Well we can do the same thing for our time.

While we have our daily routine and agenda - one extra time block we can include is ‘free time.’

Oftentimes if we don’t schedule our free time then we won’t have any free time.

And mental schedules are great if we have super memories - but it’s also super helpful to write down our daily plans in a notebook or calendar.

iCalendar, Google Calendar & other digital calendars are especially helpful because they will ping us a reminder when it is time to move on to our next task.

Finally, let’s optimize our time so we can have more of it.

We can get enough sleep, limit distractions while we’re working & schedule in breaks in order to optimize our productivity and hopefully finish our tasks on time so they don’t bleed over into our next time block or our free time block.

And remember that done is better than perfect. Sometimes taking 15 extra minutes to painstakingly comb through every detail isn’t actually worth it. We have to decide what details are most worth our time.
